West Kingston Enquiry: JDF Officer Says 16 People Died In His Sector
A senior Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) officer this morning testified that one day into the May 2010 operations in Tivoli Gardens there were 16 deaths in his area of responsibility.
Major Kevron Henry, the commanding officer for the JDF’s Bravo Company at the time, was testifying before the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry.
He said he and his men were tasked with creating a buffer around Tivoli Gardens, with specific responsibility for the Denham Town area.
Responding to questions from counsel for the commission Symone Mayhew, Henry said the bodies were reportedly found in areas stretching from the Denham Town High School to the Coronation Market.
Major Henry also testified that when the searches began the number of guns which turned up reminded him of an armoury.
