Opposition Spokesman On National Security Condemns Slaying Of District Constable

News post October 15, 2015

Opposition Spokesman on National Security, Derrick Smith, is condemning the slaying of District Constable Ashley Howard earlier this week.

Howard was shot and injured on Tuesday.

He later died in hospital.

Smith says the callous actions of the policeman’s killer or killers must be condemned by all well-thinking Jamaicans.

The Opposition Spokesman says attacks on agents of the state are attacks on the state itself, and should be seen as an attack on all members of civilised society.

He is encouraging members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to remain bold, diligent and courageous in the execution of their duties.

Smith is also calling for persons with information on District Constable Howard’s killing to come forward and share it with investigators.
