The National Water Commission (NWC) has announced tighter restrictions for communities served by the Mona Reservoir and the Hermitage Dam in St Andrew.

The NWC says come Wednesday, the communities will begin receiving water every two days instead of every other day.

The new measure was announced at press conference at the NWC’s corporate offices in St Andrew.

The decision was made by the NWC’s management team this morning at a meeting to assess the level of water remaining in the two catchment systems.

A similar meeting was held last week.

In the meantime, the NWC is urging persons conserve water and report all leaks to the commission.
