Four held for $1-million robbery

Uncategorized December 11, 2015

The woman was attacked by men who rode up on motorcycles and grabbed the bag with the money she was carrying.

Police reported that the robbers, in making their escape, engaged a security guard and a licensed firearm holder in gun battle that brought activities in that section of the nation’s capital to a halt yesterday. Persons who were nearby said one of the men was shot and injured but head of the Kingston Central Division Michael Scott yesterday refuted the claims. “We cannot confirm reports of anyone being shot in the incident at this time but what we can say is four persons are being questioned in relation to the incident,” said Scott.   “When the men tried to escape, the security guard and another man (licensed firearm holder) started chasing the men along the road, I hear the gunshots firing from way down the road,” said one woman who claimed she was an eyewitness to the incident.

Police yesterday again urged persons transporting large sums of money to inform them so that they can be provided with security free of cost.
