WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Two men and a young girl were victims of fatal crashes on New Year’s Day. The first incident occured about 12:43 pm in Westmoreland when 53-year-old Cecil Clarke, otherwise called ‘Slaughter’, was riding his Supra motorcycle when he crashed into a utility pole. Clarke, a fisherman of Little London in the parish, was taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead. Then, about 5:10 pm in Williamsfield, Manchester, eight-year-old Ashanti Grant was walking along the roadway when she was hit by a Toyota Camry motor vehicle being driven by 30-year-old Damion Hill.

Both were assisted to hospital where Hill was confirmed dead. Grant died hours later while undergoing treatment.
They both lived in the Williamsfield area.
